There was more sewing than knitting going on this weekend. We have a small screened area off our master bedroom with views into the backyard.
Before
After
Unfortunately this area is underutilized due to the nature of the furniture. In the interest of making all the available space “Knit-friendly”, our sea foam green set of wicker had to be relegated to the garage to make way for just 2 oversize but comfortable pieces. After much research into outdoor seating we “butt tested” chaises, chairs and sofas and came up with these pieces. Pillows were also needed so Lisa and I took a trip south to Boca Bargoons, a designer fabric outlet, and took home a haul of fabrics and down pillow inserts. I was able to whip up the pillows. The sheer fabric is still tacked up for effect. The plan is to get a curtain cable system, rings, and a large tieback. Then we can pull the sheers across the western exposure to cut down on the suns exposure. I am pleased to report that we thoroughly enjoyed reading the Sunday morning paper on our newly remodeled porch, with endless cups of coffee of course.
I am throwing in a picture of my Jaywalker progress for good measure.
